Mike
Nolan has been in lighting full time for six years. In that time
he has worked for Christie Lites, Band World, Frischkorn
Associates and Tanglewood, to name a few.
He has crossed 46 States and all the provinces of Canada. He has
survived the Dangerous Veal Cutlet at Norms. Mike's
previous careers include carpentry, millwright, staging and smuggling.
While Mike's favorite console is the GrandMa platform, the Hog will
forever be in his heart. Recently, Mike has concentrated on the
subtlities of the powerful and versatile WYSIWYG system and is becoming
an expert.
When he is not busting out a 36-hour stage shift, he spends time
with his 1-year-old daughter, Trixie Paige.
Recent projects include Assistant Lighting Designer and Head Electrician
on the Empire Theatre install, Head Electrician and Lighting Crew
Chief on Yamaha Motorsports at Deerhurst Resort, The
Toronto Street Festival, the opening of the Yonge Dundas
Square in Toronto and numerous operating gigs around North America.
He has been with Bartnes and Associates full time for over
a year and we are happy to honour Mike with the first Technician
of the Future Presidents Award.
